Notice of Annual General Meeting

On Tuesday 4 May 2021 Ice Skating Victoria will be holding their Annual General Meeting.

Members and guests are encouraged to attend this virtual meeting being held on Google Meet.

All members wishing to nominate for the Ice Skating Victoria Board must hold a voting rights membership and complete the online nomination form. Verifying members will be contacted to confirm nominations.

There are nine vacant Director positions. One Director position is a single year position and will be up for re-election in 2022.

The other eight positions are two year terms, however as this is the first year of the new constitution, four of the elected Directors will be up for re-election in 2022. The Board will determine prior to the 2022 AGM who will only serve a single year inline with the requirements set out in the Constitution.

Nominations for Director positions close 14 days prior to the AGM at 5pm, Tuesday 20 April 2021.

All voting rights members will receive an electronic ballot via the Ice Skating Victoria voting system, Election Buddy. Members who are not age eligible to vote will automatically have their vote sent to their Parent/Guardian, as listed in their member record, to vote on their behalf.

Families using the same email address for multiple memberships will receive multiple emails, each with a unique voting link from Election Buddy.

Voting will open on Thursday 22 April 2021 and close on 5pm, Tuesday 4 May 2021.

Individuals must register as a voting rights member by 11.59pm, Wednesday 21 April 2021 to receive a ballot. Any individual who joins Ice Skating Victoria after this date will not receive a ballot.

The election for the President, Treasurer and Secretary is conducted at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting. Once elected, Directors are eligible to nominate for these positions. Only elected Directors are eligible to vote on the appointment of these roles.

All elected Directors will have a portfolio focusing on a specific area of the sport. Portfolio’s are assigned at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting.

Ice Skating Victoria has assigned member Mike Thacker as the returning officer.  Mike is the current Treasurer, but is retiring from the Board at the AGM.
