Return to Play Plan updated

It's an exciting week for Figure Skating in Victoria with two of the three Victorian ice rinks opening their doors after the extended shutdown period.

Last week we released the Figure Skating Return to Play Plan and Policy. The Plan and Policy are what will guide our sport over the coming months. These will be updated regularly in line with changes to Government restrictions.

Today we have released an updated version of the Plan and Policy that now allow Ice Dance and Pairs couples 18 years of age or under to practice low risk manoeuvres without the need for social distancing. The same change also applies for Synchronized teams where all members are 18 years of age or under.

You can read the full changes on the policies page of the website.

Ice Skating Australia released a new communication this week, 119 - Champ Series Scores - Covid-19 Update.  As a result of this announcement, Ice Skating Victoria is looking into the feasibility of including Crystal Challenge and Victorian Figure Skating Championships in this year's Champ Series (formally called benchmark events).  More information will become available closer to these events.

To help with planning for the remainder of this year, Ice Skating Victoria are asking all members (including athletes, officials and parents) to complete a quick survey indicating their plans for the remainder of this season. By filling in the survey you will help guide the Ice Skating Victoria Council.

Please remember to maintain your distance from other skaters and coaches while on the ice and ensure you are washing your hands before and after each training session. Everyone doing their part will make sure we all stay safe on the ice.
