Welcome from Ice Skating Australia

No sport on earth combines the grace, speed and power of the human form more beautifully than figure skating.

Every athlete’s continuous effort is what makes this sport fantastic and drives the spirit that makes us proud. Your ISA Board congratulates every competitor across this week that will, without doubt, deliver Australia’s best skating performances.

Your ISA Board continues to focus on the review of how we do things- what can we do to further this great sport within Australia ? Can you help ? absolutely. Please reach out to us with how we can do better.

Every day, the Australian skating family that we all belong to, pulls together to administer and guide the sport. We all do this out of respect and appreciation of the energy and drive that our athletes put into their training and performances. Whether competing here in Australia or overseas, our good wishes are with them. In May this year ISA, together with our NZ counterpart, hosted the second Oceania Novice International Competition, right here in Melbourne. Next year the event will be held in Auckland, NZ. This early access to international competition gives our Novice skaters the chance to light the fire within and taste the greatness around them. I’m overjoyed at the strength of these emerging athletes and look forward to their continued growth on their pathway to excellence.

Ice Dance is flourishing in Australia, and we congratulate our dance couple, Chantelle Kerry & Andrew Dodds, with their addition to the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. These athletes are no stranger to high level performance as both skaters are seasoned ISU singles Championship competitors. We welcome back Holly Harris after a long absence due to injury, who has now joined the ice dance ranks with her new partner, Canadian Jason Chan.

ISA is very excited to announce our success in being selected by the ISU to host ISU Four Continents Championships in 2021. Come and watch the world’s best in your own backyard – Sydney, Australia.

ISA wishes you well in the Championships and thanks you for being part of the greatest sport on earth.
