To support the association, a number of fundraising initiatives are planned over the Victorian Figure Skating Championships (VFSC) and in the lead up to the Australian Figure Skating Championships (AFSC). ISV would like the communities support to ensure these are successful events.
ISV are a not for profit organisation, that are committed to developing Victorian skaters & the sport across all skating disciplines. All revenue raised is returned to the sport and benefits the skaters.
This year ISV:
- will make a substantial investment to upgrade the ISU Judging System (IJS) to ensure it is at a world class standard
- are continuing to invest in competitive skaters, with some support for members representing Australian overseas, judging feedback & ice and the Victorian State Squad.
- will continue to invest in, and support volunteers, judges & officials, with training and educational seminars
- are running an increasing number of test sessions & have developed a comprehensive uniform both of which are managed on a “not for profit basis” which leads to costs at times greater than revenue.
There is always a long list of things that members would like to see happen and ISV need to ensure there are funds to continue to do this. Your help is needed. There are a range of options to chose from:
Cadbury Chocolate drive: Boxes are available for sale. If you can support this initiative please contact secretary@iceskatingvictoria.
Wine Raffle: It is requested that all members consider making a donation of a bottle of wine, (red or white) or six pack of craft beer or a bottle of spirits). Minimum value per bottle or pack should be $15. All donations will be gratefully accepted. Donations can be handed in at either rink to members of the ISV council, or your ISV Club Representative. Donated items will be packaged into bundles will be drawn on Day 2 of the Victorian Figure Skating Championships.
Books of 10 raffle tickets will be distributed to skaters. Price per ticket is $2. Ticket books will be distributed by Maryann Johnstone via the ISV volunteer network. Look out for someone handing them out at your local rink. A prize will be awarded to the individual who sells the most tickets, so good luck selling.
Silent Auction: Over the weekend of State Championships a silent auction will be held. ISV are looking for donations of new items or services to offer for sale. This is a great alternative to “re-gifting”, of an unwanted gifts, samples or stock excesses from you or a local business. Gift cards, movie tickets, unwanted prizes are also welcome.
Our skating community is diverse with a number of small and medium sized businesses, a donation of goods, services or indeed a direct financial contribution would be of real benefit. All contributions for our silent auction, or direct monetary donations will be acknowledged in the VFSC program for 2016.
Advertising: There is an opportunity to showcase your business in our 2016 VFSC program. The program will be A5 in size. Full page ads can be purchased for $100 or $50 for half page. Ads will also be included on the ISV website. To book an ad or for artwork specifications please contact Andrew Taylor (firstname.lastname@example.org). Artwork can be designed for you at an additional cost.
