Ice Skating Victoria had a bold initiative at the end of 2012, to implement a qualification system for attending the Australian Figure Skating Championships (AFSC).  Through consultation and collaboration with coaches, judges, parents and skaters ISV’s qualification score was implemented for the 2013 season and has already seen great results.  The qualification system was implemented to increase the quality of skaters in Victoria, and to prepare them for competing against interstate competitors.

By having a minimum score that must be obtained to compete at the AFSC, Victorian skaters are striving for constant improvement.  ISV is confident in the qualification process, and though skater development, run by ISV, Victorian skaters are given the opportunity to work closely with Judges & Officials throughout the year, giving them the best possible chance to achieve qualification for Australia’s most prestigious figure skating event.
